The Original PC Doctor is seeking remote data recovery technicians across Australia to assess data loss, run software-based recovery, and guide clients back to their files while working from home. In this role you’ll triage cases, distinguish logical from physical failures, perform guided remote recovery sessions, and coordinate with our lab for physical work.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of storage and file systems (NTFS, APFS, exFAT, FAT32)
Hands-on experience with data-recovery tools: R-Studio, ReclaiMe, PhotoRec, DMDE
Judgement to know when to STOP and escalate to physical/clean-room recovery
Comfort using remote-access tools to perform recoveries live
Excellent phone manner and calm, honest communication under pressure
Reliable home internet and a quiet workspace
Previous data recovery or IT support experience is a strong plus

Responsibilities

Take customer calls and support requests with a calm, reassuring manner
Triaging data-loss cases and identifying logical vs physical failures
Run guided remote software-recovery sessions for deleted, corrupted or RAW data
Advise customers on stopping further damage (e.g., when to power down a failing drive)
Scope clean-room / physical recovery jobs and coordinate handover to the lab
Log jobs in the platform and set up sensible backups for customers
