Job summary

Balfour Capital Group is seeking an HR Consultant to tackle complex employee relations and compliance challenges, building on a strong generalist HR foundation. You’ll interpret legislation, advise on performance matters, misconduct and terminations, and work with a supportive team across diverse clients.

This is a flexible, 100% remote role with approximately 24–32 hours per week. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of Australian HR experience, knowledge of the Fair Work Act and modern

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in HR business partnering or advisory work.
• Experience managing complex employee relations matters and legislative interpretation.
• At least 3 years of Australian HR experience; knowledge of the Fair Work Act and modern awards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on performance concerns and develop performance improvement plans.
• Support misconduct investigations, disciplinary meetings, grievances, and terminations.
• Guide managers through difficult conversations balancing fairness and business outcomes.
• Provide compliant HR advice on general matters and restructures/redundancies.
• Interpret modern awards and workplace legislation to support decision-making.
• Prepare HR documentation including letters, contracts, policies.
• Build trusted client relationships and be a reliable HR contact.
• Collaborate with the wider team and share knowledge.
