Job summary

HumanAbility in Australia is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis, with a hybrid work model and travel as required. You will plan, draft and deliver clear communications about our projects and work, collaborating with the Senior Communications Advisor and other team members.

You’ll manage internal and external communications across our website, newsletters, events and social channels, coordinating with contractors like designers and videographers.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within not-for-profit or government sectors.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in CMS, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for communications channels including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex policy and workforce content into plain English for diverse audiences.
• Draft clear, accurate and consistent communications.
• Ensure content is accessible and appropriate for stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing multimedia content such as videos and graphics.
