Job summary

HumanAbility seeks a Communications Coordinator to support content creation and delivery of communications about our work. You will work with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and produce clear communications about projects and initiatives.

You’ll manage internal and external communications including our website, newsletters, events and social media channels, and liaise with contractors such as designers and videographers. Flexibility in location and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems and social media platforms.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex content into plain English for the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing multimedia content like videos and graphics.
