Job summary

HumanAbility is recruiting a Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. You will draft and manage content across our website, newsletters, events and social media, while liaising with contractors such as designers and videographers.

The role is full-time and funded with potential for ongoing work through mid-2028. A hybrid work model is offered with travel for stakeholder meetings and events as required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within not-for-profit or government sectors.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility's communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex policy/workforce content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing or commissioning multimedia content (videos/graphics).
• Follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies.
