Job summary

HumanAbility, a not-for-profit Jobs and Skills Council, seeks a Communications Coordinator to support planning, drafting and delivery of communications about our projects. The role may be located anywhere in Australia and involves travel for meetings and events.

You’ll manage internal and external communications across our website, newsletters, events and social media, collaborating with contractors such as designers, videographers and developers. A hybrid working model is available.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably in not-for-profit/government sector.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with CMS, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).

Responsibilities

• Identify and create content for communications channels (social, digital, newsletters).
• Translate complex content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft clear, accurate, and consistent communication materials.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist development of multimedia content (videos/graphics).
• Comply with WHS policies and guidelines.
