Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our projects. The role is a full-time position, potentially located anywhere in Australia, with travel for meetings and industry events as required.

You will work with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and publish content across our website, newsletters, events and social channels, liaising with contractors as needed and ensuring accessibility for diverse audiences and

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably within not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with CMS platforms and social media, including Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines
