Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to support the planning, drafting and delivery of communications about our work. You will manage internal and external channels including the website, newsletters, events and social media.

Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor, you will liaise with contractors as needed and help develop multimedia content. The role supports a flexible hybrid working model with occasional travel across Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably in not-for-profit or government sector
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar)
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English for the target audience
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy and consistency
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including stakeholders and the public
• Work closely with other teams to align communications across sectors
• Assist in development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics
• Follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines
