Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator for a full-time, remote role. You will collaborate with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and deliver clear communications about our projects for diverse audiences across social, digital, newsletters and events.

You’ll work with contractors such as designers and videographers, ensuring accessibility and consistency while supporting the wider Communications team.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in CMS, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar)

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines
