Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our projects and work. You’ll manage internal and external channels including our website, newsletters, events and social media, and work with a range of contractors to produce clear, accessible content for diverse audiences.

You’ll work with the Senior Communications Advisor and other team members to plan, draft and create concise communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level qualifications in communications, journalism, or equivalent.
• Experience in a communications team, preferably in not-for-profit/government sectors.
• Ability to translate technical content into plain English for broad audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for communications channels (social, digital, newsletters).
• Translate complex policy/workforce content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft clear, accurate, and consistent communication materials.
• Ensure content is accessible for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in development of multimedia content (videos/graphics) as needed.
• Observe work health, safety and wellbeing policies.
