HumanAbility is recruiting a Communications Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on planning, drafting and delivering clear communications about our projects and work, across our website, newsletters, events and social media.

The position may be located anywhere in Australia and involves travel for meetings and industry events. We operate a hybrid working model, balancing office-based collaboration with remote work, subject to funding and organisational needs.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required.
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
