Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to manage content creation and delivery across our channels, including the website, newsletters, events and social media. This remote role supports the communications team and collaborates with contractors such as designers and videographers.

You will translate technical content into plain English, draft materials with accuracy, and ensure accessibility for diverse audiences, including stakeholders and the public.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar.
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in CMS, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required.
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
