Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the planning, drafting and delivery of clear communications about our work. The role will coordinate across channels including our website, newsletters, events and social media, with opportunities to liaise with contractors such as designers and videographers.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or similar or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably not-for-profit or government.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required.
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
