Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work, including our website, newsletters, events and social channels.

Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor, you will plan, draft and create clear, compelling content, liaising with contractors as needed and helping ensure accessible messages for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or similar.
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably within not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required.
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
