Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. The role involves developing content for our website, newsletters, events and social media, and coordinating with contractors such as designers and videographers.

You will translate complex content into plain English, collaborate with the Communications team, and help ensure accessibility for diverse audiences while supporting multiple stakeholders across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or equivalent qualifications in communications, journalism or related field.
• Experience in a communications role, preferably not-for-profit or government.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency with content management systems and social media platforms; experience with Monday.com.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics.
• Observe and follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
