Job summary

YHA Australia is seeking a Relief Shift Manager to support teams across our property network. This hands-on leadership role focuses on delivering exceptional guest service, supervising staff, and assisting the Assistant Manager and Property Manager with day-to-day operations across multiple locations.

You will promote a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment, manage check-ins/check-outs, and ensure high standards of hygiene and guest satisfaction while adapting to a rotating 7-day roster.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality leadership roles across property networks.
• Willingness to relocate on short notice.
• Available for a rotating 7-day roster.
• Must have full working rights in Australia.
• First Aid, CPR and RSA certification are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across properties including guest check-ins/outs, events and F&B.
• Provide hands-on leadership and support to ensure high standards of guest service and safety.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate operational information to the Property Manager and team.
• Act as first point of contact in emergencies and follow procedures.
