Are you a warm, bubbly and highly personable nurse that loves working with people?

Sunny Coast Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinic is looking for an enthusiastic, confident and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our growing specialist practice in Birtinya

We're not just looking for someone with great clinical skills — we're looking for someone with an awesome personality to match!

Our ideal candidate is naturally warm, friendly and approachable, has exceptional communication skills and genuinely enjoys making patients feel welcome, comfortable and cared for.

You'll be working closely alongside our clinical team in a busy, dynamic private practice, assisting with a diverse range of elective orthopaedic and trauma patients.

If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves variety, enjoys building relationships with patients and colleagues, and brings positive energy to the workplace, we'd love to hear from you!

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on clinical position 1 day per week on a Tuesday, with the scope to increase days in the future.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon during elective and fracture clinics, assisting with new patient consultations, clinical assessments and treatment planning.
  • Assisting with the assessment and management of acute orthopaedic injuries and trauma presentations.
  • Conducting pre-operative and post-operative patient reviews within your scope of practice and established clinical protocols.
  • Performing wound assessments, dressing changes, wound care and suture removal.
  • Performing venepuncture and blood collection.
  • Providing patient education, reassurance and guidance throughout the surgical journey.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and confidently navigating electronic medical records and practice management software.
  • Helping ensure clinics run smoothly, efficiently and on time while maintaining an exceptional patient experience.
What We're Looking For

Personality is just as important to us as clinical experience!

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Warm, bubbly and genuinely friendly – someone who brings positive energy to the clinic and makes patients feel immediately at ease.
  • An outstanding communicator – confident, articulate and able to connect with people from all walks of life.
  • A natural people person – someone who enjoys conversation, builds rapport effortlessly and delivers exceptional patient care.
  • Confident and proactive – comfortable taking initiative, anticipating what needs to be done and working efficiently alongside a busy specialist.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable – highly competent with computers, quick to learn new software and comfortable working across multiple digital platforms.
  • Organised and efficient – able to multitask, prioritise and maintain attention to detail in a busy clinical environment.
  • A genuine team player – reliable, flexible and willing to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Compassionate and professional – someone who understands that patients may be anxious, in pain or facing surgery and knows how to put them at ease.
Essential Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Availabilities to work Tuesdays - this is an essential requirement of the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn new clinical software.
  • Sound clinical judgement and a commitment to safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Ability to work both independently within your scope of practice and collaboratively with the treating surgeon and wider clinical team.
  • Competency in venepuncture, wound care and suture removal, or willingness to undertake appropriate training.

Previous orthopaedic, surgical, fracture clinic or outpatient experience would be highly regarded, however not essential.

We are more than happy to support the right nurse in developing their orthopaedic knowledge and skills. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and exceptional people skills are what matter most to us.

Why Join Us?
  • A genuinely interesting clinical role – exposure to a broad range of orthopaedic conditions, trauma presentations and surgical procedures.
  • Work closely with an experienced specialist – a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge in a specialised field.
  • A friendly, welcoming environment – join a close-knit private practice where your contribution is valued.
  • Variety and autonomy – enjoy a hands-on role with opportunities to develop your confidence and clinical skills.
Sound Like You?
