Job summary

The Cairns Orthopaedic Clinic in Cairns, Australia, is seeking a motivated Registered Practice Nurse to join our orthopaedic team. You will support surgeons, manage post-operative care, and coordinate patient flow within a busy private practice.

Key requirements include current AHPRA registration, at least 2 years' RN experience in Australia, and strong communication with patients and hospital staff. Wound management and theatre bookings experience are advantageous.

• At least 2 years of Australian work experience as a Registered Nurse
• Unrestricted work rights in Australia
• Experience using clinical IT systems

Responsibilities

• Support our surgeons in providing exceptional patient care
• Answer patient phone enquiries and enquiries from hospital staff and other doctor’s rooms
• Work with secretaries to provide information to patients about the operative process
• Liaise with medical company representatives and order equipment for operations as required
• Liaise with theatre bookings
• Attend post-operative clinics with surgeons including wound management

About the role

We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team and contribute to delivering exceptional care in a supportive and dynamic environment. This full-time opportunity includes key responsibilities such as:

• Support our surgeons in providing exceptional patient care
• Enquiries - answer patient phone enquiries and enquiries from hospital staff and other doctor’srooms
• Work alongside our secretaries to provide information to patients about the operativeprocess
• Liaise with medical company representatives regularly and order equipment for operations as required
• Liaise with theatre bookings
• Post-operative clinic attendance with surgeons including wound management

$40 - $50 per hour + superannuation
