Sunny Coast Orthopaedic and Fracture Clinic – Birtinya QLD is seeking a warm, personable Registered Nurse to join our growing private practice. The role involves assisting in elective orthopaedic and trauma clinics and providing compassionate patient care.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication, a positive attitude, and comfort with technology and clinic management software. Tuesday availability is essential; prior orthopaedic experience is valued but not required.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Availabilities to work Tuesdays – essential.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new clinical software.
• Sound clinical judgement and commitment to safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ability to work independently within your scope and with the surgeon.
• Competency in venepuncture, wound care and suture removal, or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with elective and fracture clinics alongside a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.
• Assist with assessment and management of acute orthopaedic injuries and trauma presentations.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient reviews within scope and protocols.
• Perform wound assessments, dressing changes, wound care and suture removal.
• Perform venepuncture and blood collection.
• Provide patient education, reassurance and guidance throughout the surgical journey.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and navigate EMR and practice software.
• Help ensure clinics run smoothly, efficiently and on time while maintaining patient experience.
