Job summary

Eyecentric in Manuka, ACT is seeking a friendly Reception / Optical Assistant to join a family‑owned independent optometry practice. You’ll welcome patients, coordinate appointments, help with frame styling, and support pre-testing with training provided.

The role blends patient care, administration and optical support with a focus on delivering a premium patient experience. Ideal candidates bring customer service or reception experience, strong organisation, and a positive team spirit.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or reception is preferred.
• Optical experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident and professional communication with patients.

We're looking for a friendly and organised Reception / Optical Assistant to become an important part of our team.

Whether your experience comes from healthcare, retail, hospitality or customer service, we'll provide the support and training to help you develop your skills within independent optometry.

What your day might look like

Every day brings a mix of patient care, administration and optical support. Your day may include:

• Welcoming patients and coordinating appointments and enquiries.
• Supporting patients with frame styling and eyewear selection.
• Assisting with pre-testing and other clinical support (training provided).
• Maintaining patient records and completing administration tasks.
• Helping present our practice and frame displays to a premium standard.
• Working alongside the team to create an exceptional patient experience.
