Job summary

4Tel is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to identify and secure new business opportunities across the rail industry. Based on-site in Newcastle, you will work with leadership, operations, and technical teams to grow our presence with rail infrastructure managers and train operators.

The role combines strategic development, market intelligence, and tender coordination. Occasional interstate or overseas travel is required to support customer engagement and industry events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in business development or a similar customer-facing role.
• Rail or transport sector experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational and time management with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with rail infrastructure managers and train operators.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities through market research and stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate tenders/submissions and proposals with internal teams.
• Occasional interstate and overseas travel to support engagement.
