Job summary

NXTGEN Industries in Melbourne is seeking a Business Development Manager to own pipeline development across infrastructure, rail, construction, and mining. This strategic role spans initial contact to commercial close, handling long-cycle deals with technical and commercial stakeholders.

You will develop sector-specific strategies, build relationships with asset owners and tier-1 contractors, and translate capabilities into procurement-ready proposals and tenders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business development or enterprise sales in infrastructure, construction, rail, mining, or industrial tech.
• Ability to navigate long, complex sales cycles with technical and commercial counterparts.
• Strong knowledge of Australian government and private sector procurement processes.
• Experience working with tier-1 contractors, asset owners or infrastructure operators at senior stakeholder level.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sector-specific pipeline strategy across infrastructure, rail, construction, and mining.
• Build and maintain relationships with asset owners, tier-1 contractors, government agencies, and infrastructure operators.
• Lead commercial conversations from qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Translate technical product capability into procurement-ready proposals and tenders.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations to scope, price, and deliver pilot engagements.
• Represent NXTGEN at industry events, conferences, and sector forums.
• Maintain CRM hygiene and pipeline reporting for leadership visibility.
