Job summary

ABB Motion in Australia seeks a seasoned Quality Leader to deploy and lead the quality strategy for a local unit, ensuring world-class performance and certification compliance. You will drive the IMS, communicate quality policies, and collaborate with Sales to monitor requirements and indicators.

The role is hybrid, with exposure to AI tools and benefits. You will report to the Lead Division Manager and influence multiple functions to sustain continuous improvement and robust quality systems

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading or supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS) within a highly regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies, with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to analyse, trend, and present quality data to support strategic decision-making and proactive quality improvement.
• Experience leading or supporting complex investigations, including root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Strong coaching, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline; Australian Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Influence and consult with local management to shape IMS design and sustainability.
• Ensure internal and external communication on quality management system matters.
• Develop and implement short- to long-term strategy for the quality system with risk-based approach.
• Establish a closed-loop quality cycle from initial engagement to delivery.
• Monitor customer requirements and leading quality indicators with Sales.
• Coach teams to improve core business processes (Sales, Tendering, Invoicing).
• Support investigations to ensure root cause is determined and CAPAs are raised.
