ABB Motion in Australia seeks an experienced Quality leader to drive the local quality strategy across multiple divisions, building robust systems, processes and a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading or supporting QMS in regulated environments
• Strong Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC expertise to drive continuous improvement
• Ability to analyse quality data to support strategic decision-making
• Experience leading investigations with CAPA
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field); Australian Citizenship required
• SAP, Salesforce, and Qualtrics experience is advantageous

This position reports to:

Lead Division Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to deploy and lead the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams, with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will drive the local quality system through the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by coordinating the efforts of all necessary local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance and ensuring that the necessary certification requirements are met throughout the organization.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the Motion Australia Business Area, with specific focus on Motion Low Voltage Motors (MOIM), Motion Service (MOSE), Motion High Power (MOHP) and Motion Drives Products (MODP) divisions. Main stakeholders are Motion Local Division Managers, Motion HSE Manager, Country HSE Lead, Electrification and Automation Business Area HSEQ leaders.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Influencing and consulting with management within the local ABB unit to innovatively shape the design and development of the IMS (Integrated Management System) so that the Quality Management Function is robust and sustainable.
• Ensuring appropriate internal and external communication relevant to quality management system.
• Implementing short, medium- and long-term strategy to develop the quality management system, based on identified risks and opportunities, in collaboration and agreement with the local management team.
• Establishing a closed-loop quality cycle from initial customer engagement to final product or service delivery.
• Work with Sales to monitor customer requirements, expectations and leading quality indicators.
• A secondary deliverable is coaching teams or individuals to improve core business processes (Sales, Tendering, Invoicing, etc)
• Support and review complex investigations to assure root cause is determined and corrective and preventive actions are raised in accordance with ABB’s quality policy.

Qualifications For The Role

• Minimum 5 years’ experience leading or supporting Quality Management Systems (QMS) within a highly regulated environment, ideally in technology, manufacturing, repair, or service operations.
• Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC methodologies, with a proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to analyse, trend, and present quality data to support strategic decision-making and proactive quality improvement.
• Experience leading or supporting complex investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Strong coaching, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to promote quality compliance and process improvement across diverse teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience), with Australian Citizenship required. SAP, Salesforce, and Qualtrics experience is advantageous.
