Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Project Supervisor in coal mining
• Mechanical trade or proven high mechanical competency
• RIISAM401E in lieu of trade
• Experience with gas detectors and gas management
• Open QLD Driver’s Licence
• Current Coal Board Medical
• Standard 11 (Surface)
• S123 (G1, G8, G9)
• G2 – Carry out the Risk Management Process
• RIIMPO304E – Conduct Wheel Loader Operations

Coal Augering Services (CAS) is Australia’s only highwall auger mining contractor, operating unique, specialised equipment across major open‑cut sites. We’re a small, skilled team looking for a hands‑on Project Supervisor with strong mechanical capability to support our Bowen Basin operations.

We’re now seeking an experienced Project Supervisor with a Mechanical Trade (or equivalent mechanical competency) to join our Bowen Basin operations. What You’ll Be Doing

As a Project Supervisor, you’ll lead and support a small crew across production, compliance, and maintenance activities. Your mechanical capability will be essential — you’ll be diagnosing issues, performing hands‑on repairs, and ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and directing the workforce in production, compliance, and maintenance
• Carrying out hands‑on mechanical repairs, fault finding, and maintenance
• Liaising with clients and maintaining strong working relationships
• Ensuring compliance with the Safety & Health Management System
• Implementing and applying the risk management process
• Using Microsoft Office and other computer-based systems for reporting and documentation
• Maintaining accurate filing and record keeping
• Using gas detectors and supporting gas management processes

About You

You’re a capable, safety‑focused supervisor who enjoys working with your hands and leading small teams. You’re practical, reliable, and confident making decisions in a production environment.

To be successful, you will have:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Project Supervisor in coal mining (production experience highly desirable)
• Mechanical trade or proven high mechanical competency
• OR RIISAM401E in lieu of trade
• Experience with gas detectors and gas management (highly regarded)
• Willingness to work alongside your team when requiredStrong communication and team‑building skills
• Sound computer skills
• Open QLD Driver’s Licence
• Current Coal Board Medical
• Standard 11 (Surface)
• S123 (G1, G8, G9)
• G2 – Carry out the Risk Management Process
• RIIMPO304E – Conduct Wheel Loader Operations
