Qualifications

• Underground coal experience as an operator is essential.
• Ventilation-related experience is highly desirable.
• Training transcripts and/or tickets are required.
• A passion for safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong passion for safety.
• Effective communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain ventilation devices, strata support and roof bolt systems.
• Conduct personal risk assessments and identify hazards as required by the role.
• Operate plant and equipment in underground mining environments.
• Operate vehicles underground and on surface.
• Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure workplace.
• Identify hazards and report them to the relevant personnel.
• Follow mine site safety and health systems.
• Prioritise the safety of yourself and colleagues.

Duties:

Performing underground mining activities with a focus on installing and maintaining ventilation devices, strata support and roof bolt installation.

Carrying out personal risk assessment, hazard identification and other safety requirements relevant to the role.

Operation of plant and equipment used in an underground mining environment.

Operation of vehicles both underground and surface.

Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure working environment.

Hazzard and safety awareness and reporting any potential hazards to relevant personnel.

Adherence to the mine site safety and health system.

Ensuring safety of self and fellow colleagues.

About you:

Demonstrated Underground Coal experience as an Operator is essential.

Experience with a focus on Ventilation work is highly desirable.

Training transcripts and/or qualifications & tickets.

A passion for safety.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a strong passion for safety.

Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately.
