Job summary

One Staff Pty Ltd is seeking a Day Shift Supervisor for construction and maintenance on the surface of an underground mine in Moranbah. You will lead a small crew, ensure safety, schedule resources, and coordinate with the Construction Manager to deliver high-quality work on a 7/7 day shift with on-site accommodation and meals.

Ideal candidates have trade Cert IIIs, mine-site experience, a current Australian driver licence, and a willingness to obtain required competencies.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising construction or maintenance teams.
• Trade qualifications at Cert III level (Carpentry or Plumbing).
• Mine site experience (2+ years preferred).
• Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency with work rights.
• CMWHS/Health Assessment is preferable; those with one may be considered.
• Standard 11 Induction is preferred; those with one may be considered.
• Competent in using electronic devices for scheduling, resource allocation and recording tasks.

Responsibilities

Day Shift Supervisor - Construction Maintenance Crew
We are seeking a motivated, engaged, hands on, experienced shift supervisor to lead a small crew to conduct construction and maintenance works on the surface of an underground mine in the Moranbah region.

The roster is a family friendly 7/7 day shift only, with accommodation and meals provided. As a small family-owned business who has been a surface infrastructure maintenance provider for over 13 years in the region, we value our employees as more than a number.

We are looking for a supervisor who has

• Previous experience supervising construction or maintenance teams.
• Trade qualifications at a minimum Cert III level (Carpentry or Plumbing preferred).
• Previous experience on mine sites (minimum of 2 years preferred).
• A current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency with unrestricted work rights.
• Current coal board medical (CMWHS - Health Assessment) is preferable however those who have previously held one will be considered.
• Current Standard 11 Induction is preferred however those who have previously held one will be considered.
• Supervisor competencies - G1, G8, G9 & G2 (or a willingness to obtain).
• Competent and confident using electronic devices and systems for scheduling, ordering, allocating resources and recording task information.

Due to the nature of our construction maintenance work, the tasks conducted week to week are diverse which helps to keep things interesting. You will be provided with a phone and laptop on site, and we also have salary sacrificing options available to you.

Duties of the supervisor include

• Supervise and work with a small crew to ensure project requirements and any changing site needs are met for works on the surface of the coal mine.
• Work in line with SHMS and site requirements and ensure that the Mandatory Inherent Safety requirements of the site are met (such as clean shaven, PPE, drug and alcohol free).
• Collaborate with the Construction Manager and client to ensure that the planned or required work is executed to the highest standards of quality, environmental compliance and health and safety.
• Engage in daily pre-start and toolbox meetings to foster a productive team environment.
• Coordinate day-to-day resource allocations to match project timelines, monitor ongoing operations to identify risks early, and lead proactive problem-solving efforts when required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to manage ongoing relations during construction and maintenance operations.
• Use electronic systems across all daily activities.

Please note the site is clean shaven, drug and alcohol free, and you will be required to wear site PPE (hard hat, safety boots, safety glasses). Telstra mobile service is the only one currently accessible on site.
