Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a $100M+ mixed-use apartment development on Sydney's Lower North Shore. You will head the construction and commercial teams, controlling program, cost, quality, safety and stakeholder relationships.

5+ years' PM experience delivering major construction projects is required, with a background in large-scale residential or mixed-use developments and strong Jobpac knowledge.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' proven experience as a Project Manager delivering major construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale residential or mixed-use developments.
• High-rise residential experience is highly desirable.
• Experience managing projects valued at $100M+ strongly preferred.
• Jobpac experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for project delivery from commencement through to completion.
• Lead site, commercial and project delivery teams.
• Develop and drive construction program and milestones.
• Maintain control of budgets, forecasting and commercial performance.
• Oversee procurement and critical trade packages to align with program.
• Manage consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Chair project meetings and report to senior management.
• Identify and manage commercial, contractual and delivery risks.
• Drive design coordination and resolve buildability issues.
• Maintain high standards of quality, WHS and compliance.
• Manage client relationships and align expectations through delivery.
• Drive the project through practical completion, handover and close-out.

The Opportunity

An opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to take a senior delivery role on a $100M+ mixed-use apartment development on Sydney’s Lower North Shore. You will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, leading the construction and commercial teams while maintaining control of program, cost, quality, safety and stakeholder relationships. This is a genuine project leadership position suited to an accomplished Project Manager with a strong background delivering large-scale residential construction, ideally including high-rise apartment developments.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Taking overall responsibility for project delivery from commencement through to completion
• Leading and managing the site, commercial and project delivery teams
• Developing and driving the construction program and key project milestones
• Maintaining control of project budgets, forecasting and commercial performance
• Overseeing procurement and ensuring critical trade packages are secured in line with program
• Managing consultants, subcontractors and key project stakeholders
• Chairing project meetings and providing clear reporting to senior management
• Identifying and proactively managing commercial, contractual and delivery risks
• Driving design coordination and resolving complex construction and buildability issues
• Maintaining the highest standards across quality, WHS and compliance
• Managing client relationships and ensuring expectations are maintained throughout delivery
• Driving the project through practical completion, handover and close-out

About You

• 5+ years' proven experience as a Project Manager delivering major construction projects
• Demonstrated experience successfully delivering large-scale residential or mixed-use developments
• High-rise residential experience is highly desirable
• Experience managing projects valued at $100M+ strongly preferred
• Jobpac experience is essential
• Strong commercial acumen with a thorough understanding of contracts, procurement, forecasting and cost control
• Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary project teams
• Excellent programming, planning and problem-solving capability
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline
