Westgold Resources Limited is seeking a Project Resource Definition Geologist to unlock orebodies by delivering high-quality geological data and resource definition programs. You will work in Northern Operations on a structured 8/6 roster to support Mineral Resource estimation and mine planning.

The role involves coordinating drilling activities, maintaining schedules, and providing geological interpretations to drive safe, efficient and sustainable mining outcomes.

Competenze

• Bachelor degree in geology or equivalent required.
• 4+ years' experience in mining, preferably in gold projects.
• Experience with RC and diamond drilling programs and geological interpretations.

Mansioni

• Promote safety culture and adhere to WHS requirements.
• Coordinate project area surface resource definition drilling activities.
• Maintain drilling schedule, design, and implementation of programs.
• Monitor sample/assay QAQC and progress against targets.
• Update and maintain geology wireframes (lithology, mineralisation, structures).

As a Project Resource Definition Geologist within Northern Operations, you will play a pivotal role in unlocking the value of our orebodies through the delivery of high-quality geological data, resource definition programs, and insightful interpretations.

Working on an 8/6 roster, you will provide the geological confidence required to support Mineral Resource estimation, mine planning, and strategic project decisions, helping drive safe, efficient, and sustainable mining outcomes

About The Role

• Become part of a growing and developing department, with multiple rigs across multiple sites

• Ongoing success will lead to further opportunities and growth.

Role Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to WHS requirements, participating in inspections, and following company procedures.
• Coordinate and oversee project area surface resource definition drilling activities.
• Maintain the drilling schedule, design, and implementation of drilling programs.
• Monitor sample and assay quality, follow up QAQC issues.
• Monitor drilling progress, productivity, costs, and performance against targets.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining all geology wireframes, including lithology, mineralisation and structural.
• Review project areas to identify resource extension opportunities and additional resources.

About The Candidate

• Qualification: Batchelor of Science (Geology) or equivalent
• C Class drivers manual license
• System experience: Leapfrog Geo.
• 4+ years' experience within the mining industry, ideally in a gold as a Resource Definition Geologist, Project Geologist, Exploration Geologist or similar technical geology role.
• Experience with RC and diamond drilling programs
• Demonstrated experience managing drilling programs and geological interpretations.
