Job summary

Qualifications

• Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy or related discipline.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in mineral processing.
• Current C Class Manual Western Australian driver’s licence.
• Sound knowledge of processing plant equipment and processes (crushing, milling, gravity, leaching, tailings).
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day performance of all aspects of the gold processing plant.
• Conduct metallurgical accounting and reconciliation for gold production.
• Ensure production and cost targets are achieved and adjust operating parameters.
• Provide technical support to operations staff.
• Train and mentor operations staff.
• Monitor and optimise performance of the MSA and feed back to stakeholders.
• Oversee on-site laboratory operations.
• Carry out designated metallurgical test work and duties.
• Assist in budgets and forecasts for the department.
• Lead short- and long-term projects to improve plant efficiency.
• Monitor availability and usage of critical reagents and consumables.

THE ROLE

• Monitor day-to-day performance of all aspects of the gold processing plant.

• Ensure production and cost targets achieved and adjust key operating parameters.
• Provide technical support to operations staff.
• Train and mentor operations staff.
• Monitor and optimise performance of the MSA and provide feedback to stakeholders.
• Oversea on-site laboratory operations
• Carry out designated metallurgical test work and metallurgical duties in a professional manner.
• Assist in the preparation and ongoing management of department budgets and forecasts.
• Establish and execute short term and long-term projects aimed at improving process plant efficiency.
• Monitoring the availability and usage of critical process reagents and consumables

WHAT DO I NEED

• Current “C” Class Manual Western Australian driver’s licence
• Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy or related discipline
• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in mineral processing
• Sound working knowledge of processing plant equipment and processes - crushing, milling, gravity, leaching, tailings and reagent circuits
• Experienced in monitoring and optimising plant metallurgical performance, including responsibility for daily metallurgical accounting
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel)
• Experience with online analysis systems (desirable)
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment
• Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and be adaptable
