Job summary

Amida Recruitment is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator/Project Engineer to join a progressive national construction company with a portfolio of large-scale, high-spec commercial fit-out projects in Sydney. You will deliver safe, high-quality, profitable projects from inception through to handover, coordinating subcontract packages and procurement against program timelines.

Ideal candidates will have 4–7+ years in construction, tertiary qualification in Engineering or similar, and

Qualifications

Negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong financial analysis and administrative focus.

Responsibilities

Prepare and check subcontract packages.
Negotiate and review subcontract tenders.
Produce and maintain a procurement schedule that matches the program.
Preparation of accurate payment schedules.
Process progress / delay claims and external variations according to contractual obligations and timelines.
Prepare and issue draft progress reports for clients on a monthly basis.
Set up and maintain job files, drawing and contract registers, sample boards and shop drawing registers.
Assist in management and tracking of project expenditure against budget.
Oversee financial management, planning and programming.
Conduct regular programme and internal project audits.
Manage dispute resolution between both the client and subcontractors.
Review and improve construction methodologies.
Supervise the induction and development of project based staff, ensuring regular performance feedback occurs.
