Job summary

Amida Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer / Contracts Administrator (or a Contracts Administrator progressing into a Project Engineer role) to lead blue-chip, high-specification commercial fit-out projects in Sydney. The role involves delivering safe, high-quality, profitable projects from conversion to handover and review, with opportunities to progress within a market-leading contractor.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction or similar.
• Minimum 4 – 7+ years’ experience within the construction industry – a tier 1, 2 or 3 background would be ideal.
• Construction Safety Induction (White) card.
• Strong financial analysis and administrative focus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check subcontract packages.
• Negotiate and review subcontract tenders.
• Produce and maintain a procurement schedule that matches the program.
• Preparation of accurate payment schedules.
• Process progress / delay claims and external variations according to contractual obligations and timelines.
• Prepare and issue draft progress reports for clients on a monthly basis.
• Set up and maintain job files, drawing and contract registers, sample boards and shop drawing registers.
• Assist in management and tracking of project expenditure against budget.
• Oversee financial management, planning and programming.
• Conduct regular programme and internal project audits.
• Manage dispute resolution between both the client and subcontractors.
• Review and improve construction methodologies.
• Supervise the induction and development of project based staff, ensuring regular performance feedback occurs.
• Ensure industrial relations issues are resolved and industrial arrangements are up to date.
• Management of subcontractors to delivery project within time, quality, safety and budget.
