Job summary

Amida Recruit AU is hiring a Project Manager to lead commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects in Melbourne. You will own delivery from design through handover, coordinating with design teams, consultants, and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes on high-end fit-outs.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or similar.
• Minimum 5 years' experience delivering fitout and refurbishment projects as a Project Manager with a head contractor or D&B builder.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects from design through handover.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, variations, and claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of fitout and refurbishment projects from design through to handover.
• Negotiate and let subcontracts, manage procurement schedules and programme.
• Lead tender processes and develop construction methodologies that win work.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, communicating updates to clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and manage construction risk across projects, implementing mitigation strategies proactively.
• Manage project expenditure, cashflow forecasting, and monthly cost reporting.
• Oversee project quality assurance, ensuring all works comply with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships, providing regular progress reporting and maintaining satisfaction throughout.
• Lead and mentor junior project staff including Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Site Managers.
• Manage project completion including practical completion documentation, defect rectification, and close-out.
