Job summary

Cape to Coast Group Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for a 12-month contract on a 7 on 7 off roster to support the delivery of a Greenfield SMP project in a mining context. You will manage schedules, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and oversee commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in greenfield projects, engineering degree (Mechanical preferred), strong communication, and a proactive on-site approach to delivering safe, quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years in greenfield projects and project delivery.
• PM/Planning skills including scheduling, budgeting, coordinating multidisciplinary activities.
• Strong communication with stakeholders, concise reporting, and clear technical presentations.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) and mining/construction exposure.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety regs and QA processes; proficiency in common project software.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and on-site teamwork mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Greenfield SMP works.
• Develop, monitor and update project schedules.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and site activities.
• Manage client communications, meetings and reporting.
• Identify, prepare and manage variations and scope changes.
• Monitor costs, progress, risks and deliverables.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal personnel.
• Ensure work is delivered safely, to required quality standards.

Role Description -

Cape to Coast Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract, working a 7 on 7 off roster you will be supporting the delivery of a mining Greenfield structural, mechanical and piping (SMP) project.

This role would suit a capable Mechanical Engineer who can confidently manage project delivery, coordinate schedules, maintain strong client relationships and oversee commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of Greenfield SMP works


• Develop, monitor and update project schedules


• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and site activities


• Manage client communications, meetings and project reporting


• Identify, prepare and manage variations and scope changes


• Monitor project costs, progress, risks and deliverables


• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal project personnel


• Ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards

Qualifications

• Project Engineering capabilities with 5+ years in greenfield projects


• Project Management and Project Planning skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating multidisciplinary activities.


• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders, prepare concise reports, and present technical information clearly.


• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering (preferably Mechanical or a related discipline) and experience in a mining or construction environment are beneficial.


• Experience with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes, along with proficiency in common engineering and project management software, is advantageous.


• Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to working on-site in a team-oriented environment are desirable.
