Randstad - Construction, Property & Engineering is seeking a Project Manager for an expansive multi-metals processing facility in the Upper Spencer Gulf region, SA. The role oversees civil, mechanical and electrical CAPEX/OPEX projects, integrating engineering, procurement and construction management while maintaining safety, quality and cost controls.

Base in Adelaide CBD with a 5/2 roster and weekly travel to Pt Pirie; site accommodation provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in mining, mechanical, electrical and/or SMP sectors.
  • Engineering or project management qualification highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute civil, electrical and mechanical projects safely and on time.
  • Engage and manage subcontractors to deliver projects.
  • Monitor budgeting, timeline and scheduling of jobs.
  • Ensure the quality management system is implemented and maintained.
  • Close projects with sign-off and invoicing.
  • Liaise between client, supplier and company for smooth workflow.
  • Report incidents, non-conformances and quality issues promptly.
  • Apply effective change management practices.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts in the company’s best interest.
  • Provide team leadership and foster a safe, positive workplace culture.
  • Identify and initiate innovations that reduce costs and boost efficiency.

Job description

Our client is an expansive multi-metals processing and refining facility located in the Upper Spencer Gulf region of South Australia. Operating continuously for over 130 years, it is one of the world's largest lead smelters and acts as the economic backbone for the region.

About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of a range of civil, mechanical and electrical CAPEX and OPEX projects, including safety, quality and cost. The Project Manager will integrate engineering, procurement and construction management work streams. As well as overseeing project safety, environmental and HR issues and project controls.

Based out of our client's Adelaide CBD office. This role is offered on a 5/2 (Mon to Fri) roster, with weekly travel to Pt Pirie. Site accommodation will be provided.

In this role you will:

  • Conduct planning and execution of a range of civil, electrical and mechanical projects in a safe and timely manner
  • Engaging and managing subcontractors to successfully deliver projects

  • Ensuring the quality management system is implemented and maintained

About you:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in similar mining, mechanical, electrical and/or SMP sectors
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or project management would be highly regarded
  • Excellent time management & multitasking skills with ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Overriding commitment to safety
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Energetic with a positive, can-do attitude.
