Job summary

Aggreko in regional Queensland is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to manage and coordinate mechanical scope on a major mine development project. The role is site-based with a 2/1 roster and travel arranged from Brisbane.

You will review design documentation, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality and schedules. Strong focus on pre-commissioning and commissioning activities and adherence to Australian standards.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating mechanical works on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical scope including installation of piping, generators and fuel systems.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review design docs, prepare work packages and schedules.
• Liaise with clients, engineers and subcontractors to deliver safely and on time.
• Monitor progress, cost and quality against targets.
• Identify risks and changes in scope and support commissioning activities.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our project delivery team delivering hybrid power on a major mine development project in regional Queensland. This is a site-based role working a 2/1 roster, with travel arranged from Brisbane.

Reporting to the Lead Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of mechanical works packages, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and project schedules.

What you’ll do as Mechanical Project Engineer;

• Manage and coordinate mechanical scope of works, including structural/mechanical infrastructure installation, piping, generators and associated fuel systems. Liaise and coordinate with other disciplines (civil, electrical etc.)
• Review and interpret mechanical design documentation, drawings, and specifications
• Coordinate subcontractors and mechanical trades to ensure works are delivered safely, on program, and to specification
• Prepare and manage mechanical work packages, including scopes of work, procurement, and construction schedules
• Liaise with client representatives, engineers, designers and other project stakeholders
• Monitor and report on progress, cost, and quality against project targets
• Identify and manage project risks, variations, and changes in scope
• Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including liaison with commissioning engineers
• Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, engineering codes, and site-specific HSE requirements
• Contribute to the development of construction methodologies and ITPs for mechanical works
