Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Program Officer (Procurement) to support regional delivery of the Queensland Transport and Road Investment Program. You will provide procurement expertise, guidance and end-to-end activities across planning, evaluation, negotiations and contract administration in a dynamic government environment.

You will build strong stakeholder relationships, deliver value-for-money outcomes and ensure compliance with policies and governance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procurement principles, policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Experience using business, finance or project management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to customer-focused service and compliance with procurement requirements.
• Desirable: SAP and 3PCM experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate procurement advice and support in line with departmental frameworks.
• Deliver procurement activities and assist stakeholders with procurement processes and requirements.
• Undertake end-to-end procurement activities, including planning, documentation, evaluation, negotiations, contract administration and supply arrangements.
• Support clients to achieve procurement outcomes that align with business objectives.
• Monitor procurement performance, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

As a Program Officer (Procurement), you will support the Region's contribution to the Queensland Transport and Road Investment Program (QTRIP), helping deliver projects and programs that benefit communities across Queensland.Working within a collaborative regional team, you will provide procurement expertise and support across a range of activities. Partnering with program and project managers, you will contribute to the delivery of end-to-end procurement processes that support the successful planning, delivery and management of transport infrastructure projects.This is an excellent opportunity to apply your procurement knowledge in a dynamic environment, delivering value-for-money outcomes and supporting essential infrastructure. You will build strong stakeholder relationships, provide practical advice, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure procurement activities comply with departmental policies, procedures and governance requirements.In this role, you will:Provide timely and accurate procurement advice and support in line with departmental frameworks.Deliver procurement activities and assist stakeholders with procurement processes and requirements.Undertake end-to-end procurement activities, including planning, documentation, evaluation, negotiations, contract administration and supply arrangements.Support clients to achieve procurement outcomes that align with business objectives.Monitor procurement performance, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.To be successful, you will demonstrate:Knowledge of procurement principles, policies and procedures, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Experience using business, finance or project management systems.
