Job summary

Queensland Government (Transport and Main Roads) is seeking an Advisor (Procurement) to support procurement, contract administration and project controls across Mackay and Rockhampton. Qualifications

  • Experience in procurement, contract administration or project controls within a governance-focused environment.
  • Experience using SAP and Excel for financial management and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide procurement advice and support on sourcing, contract establishment and procurement planning activities.
  • Coordinate procurement processes, including tender activities, evaluations and contract formation.
  • Support contract administration activities and project controls functions across infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects.
  • Monitor procurement and financial transactions to ensure governance compliance and delegated authorities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, expenditure tracking, reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, contract and project records.
  • Identify risks, provide practical solutions and support sound business decision-making.
  • Build productive relationships with project teams, suppliers and stakeholders across the region.
  • Use systems such as SAP, 3PCM and Microsoft Excel to support financial and procurement management activities.

Help shape the delivery of Queensland's transport infrastructureAre you an experienced procurement professional who enjoys working collaboratively, solving problems and supporting the successful delivery of projects? Join Transport and Main Roads' Program Support team and help deliver the infrastructure programs that keep Central Queensland connected.With opportunities available in Mackay and Rockhampton, this role offers the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of projects that contribute to the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP). From coastal communities to regional and remote areas, your work will help support the planning and delivery of transport infrastructure that benefits Queenslanders every day.

About the role

As an Advisor (Procurement), you'll provide professional procurement, contract administration and project controls support to regional business units and project teams. Working closely with project managers, program managers and stakeholders, you'll help ensure procurement activities are delivered in line with governance requirements while achieving value-for-money outcomes. You'll play an important role in supporting project delivery through procurement planning, sourcing activities, contract establishment, financial monitoring and reporting.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

You will bring experience in procurement, contract administration or project controls within a governance-focused environment. You'll be comfortable interpreting policies and procedures, managing competing priorities and providing accurate, practical advice to a range of stakeholders. We're looking for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships while delivering high-quality outcomes. Experience with financial management processes and systems such as SAP and Excel will be highly regarded.
