Job summary

Sydney Trains in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a Senior Executive to lead change management for a large, business-critical transformation. The role focuses on delivering enterprise change, engaging stakeholders, communications, learning and readiness to accelerate adoption and realise benefits.

This fixed-term, full-time opportunity is based in Burwood with hybrid working arrangements—three days per week on site.

In this role, you’ll:

Work closely with the Suburban Services and Intercity Services leadership teams, subject matter experts, external stakeholders and unions to lead the people side of change for a large-scale, business-critical transformation program.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Change, you will develop and deliver the program’s change management strategy, ensuring the organisation is prepared, supported and ready to adopt new ways of working. Working as part of a collaborative change team, you will partner with program and project leads to integrate change management activities into delivery plans and drive successful business outcomes.

You will provide strategic direction across stakeholder engagement, communications, learning, business readiness and adoption activities, while identifying and managing risks, issues and barriers that may impact successful implementation. Your focus will be on supporting the business through change, accelerating adoption and ensuring benefits are realised.

Working within a complex operational and highly industrial environment, you will build strong relationships, influence senior stakeholders and navigate competing priorities to achieve effective and sustainable change outcomes.

Your resilience, adaptability and strategic mindset will enable you to balance the needs of diverse stakeholder groups while maintaining a strong focus on organisational readiness, adoption and business value.

This is a fixed‑term opportunity for up to 10 months with hybrid working arrangements, based three days per week in Burwood.

About You

You are an authentic, collaborative and customer‑focused change management professional with a proven track record delivering large‑scale transformational programs within complex, operationally critical and highly regulated environments.

You have demonstrated experience developing and implementing enterprise change management strategies and have successfully led change across people, process and technology.

Your strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills enable you to build trusted relationships and you are skilled at navigating complex stakeholder environments and bringing diverse groups together to achieve shared outcomes.

You are tertiary qualified and bring substantial experience applying recognised change management methodologies such as Prosci or similar frameworks within large organisational environments.
