Job summary

St Joseph's Primary School, Charlestown, is seeking a permanent part-time Learning Support Teacher (K-6) to commence January 2027. The role focuses on identifying and supporting students with disabilities, delivering targeted interventions, and collaborating with teachers to differentiate the curriculum.

You will work within a Catholic education setting, align with NSW standards, and contribute to staff development and inclusive learning strategies.

Qualifications

• Four-year trained teacher (or three-year trained with significant prior experience) and postgraduate qualifications in Special Education.
• Active NESA accreditation.
• Current paid NSW WWCC number.
• Completion of anaphylaxis training.
• Completion of CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Identify students with special educational needs and collaborate with parents, CSO staff, and external providers.
• Deliver intervention, teach students, and assist differentiation of the curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers to design, implement, monitor and review adjustments.
• Work with other Learning Support personnel to support students with disability.
• Contribute to staff professional development and parent education programs.
• Assist with enrolment and transition processes and prepare required documentation.

Education

Four-year trained teacher (or Three-year trained with significant prior experience)

Postgraduate qualifications in Special Education

Active NSW/NSW Teacher Accreditation (NESA)

Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
