Sofitel Sydney Wentworth seeks a friendly Porter to join our Concierge team in Sydney. You will be a primary point of contact for guests, handling luggage, providing information, and ensuring a seamless luxury experience throughout their visit.

The role emphasizes outstanding guest service, professional appearance, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-end environment. Evening and weekend shifts may be required as part of a flexible hospitality team.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented with a friendly, accommodating approach.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for guest interactions.
• Professional grooming and presentable appearance.
• Physical ability to lift, carry and transport items up to 30 kg.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with luggage, storage, and requests safely and efficiently.
• Provide information about local attractions and services to enhance stays.
• Maintain a neat, professional presence in the lobby and front of house.
• Address guest concerns promptly and escalate when needed.

• Provide overnight operational support to the Duty Manager and In‑Room Dining teams.

Job Description

• Greet guests warmly and professionally as they arrive
• Help guests with their luggage, storage, and other requests in a safe and efficient manner
• Provide helpful information about local attractions and services to enhance their visit
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and presence in the lobby area
• Address guest concerns quickly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary
• Consistently represent our brand values and deliver high-quality service
• Provide overnight operational support to the Duty Manager and In-Room Dining team, including technical assistance for guest requests

Qualifications

• A passion for customer service and creating exceptional guest experiences
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse guests
• Professional appearance and adherence to grooming standards
• Physical capability to regularly lift, carry, and transport items up to 30 kg
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends as required
