Job summary

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth in Sydney's iconic luxury hotel seeks a passionate Restaurant Supervisor to lead Delta Rue during daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and a high standard of service.

You will supervise the food and beverage team, manage rosters, brief pre-shift plans, coach staff, and work closely with the kitchen and hotel team while complying with RSA, food safety, WHS and hotel procedures. This is a fulltime role within a globally recognised luxury brand.

Qualifications

• Experience as Restaurant Supervisor or similar leadership role in hospitality.
• Passion for guest experience and service excellence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current NSW RSA competency.
• Ability to lead during busy service and roster flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager with daily Delta Rue operations.
• Lead, motivate, and coach food and beverage team during service.
• Plan duties, rosters, and ensure adequate coverage.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate priorities.
• Maintain service standards, presentation, and cleanliness.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Collaborate with kitchen and hotel teams for seamless service.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and cash handling.
• Ensure RSA, food safety, WHS and hotel procedures are followed.
• Support rostering and daily operational needs.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager with the day-to-day operation of Delta Rue.
• Supervise, lead, and motivate food and beverage team members during daily operations.
• Allocate duties, prepare staff rosters where required, and ensure adequate service coverage.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate daily priorities, promotions, bookings, and operational updates.
• Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
• Monitor service standards, presentation, cleanliness, and product quality.
• Handle guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally and promptly.
• Work closely with the kitchen and wider Hotel team to deliver seamless service.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and reconciliation.
• Support rostering and daily operational requirements while ensuring RSA, food safety, WHS and hotel procedures are consistently followed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or similar leadership role within a quality restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment is highly regarded
• Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Confident leading and motivating a team during busy service periods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A hands-on, organised and solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
• A genuine interest in developing people and building a strong team culture.
• Current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) competency.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster
