Job summary

Gundagai Construction Services in NSW is seeking a reliable Plant Mechanic to maintain and repair our plant fleet. You will diagnose faults, service equipment, and help coordinate maintenance to keep projects running smoothly.

The role is hands-on, requires good organisation and communication, and offers a stable full-time position with a company vehicle/fuel allowance and opportunities to take responsibility for plant management.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Plant Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic.
• Heavy Vehicle Licence (HR/HC preferred).
• Experience with construction and civil plant equipment.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills.
• Ability to manage plant maintenance schedules and records.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair and maintain plant and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs.
• Manage plant maintenance schedules and records.
• Coordinate plant servicing, inspections, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor plant usage and ensure equipment availability for projects.
• Maintain a safe and clean workshop environment.
• Transport plant and equipment when required.
