Job summary

Able Hire is seeking a skilled General Mechanic to service, maintain and repair a wide range of equipment, trailers, and small-power tools in a local workshop. The role can be full-time, part-time or casual to suit the applicant’s needs; work hours and conditions are flexible to match experience.

You’ll diagnose faults, perform servicing, keep records, and support breakdowns in the field when required. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills are essential.

We’re a local, family owned and run, general equipment, vehicle and trailer hire company, looking for a skilled mechanic to join our team. This role could be tailored around either a full-time, part-time or casual employment basis depending on the applicant’s requirements or skill set.

The Role

As a General Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of company equipment, including:

• Trailers bearings
• Construction and plant machinery under 3T (e.g., excavators, bobcats, mini dumpers etc.)
• Landscaping equipment such as stump grinders, petrol aerators and rotary hoes
• Small engines and power tools

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
