This position requires hands-on fault-finding, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults, and a mix of workshop and field service duties. Travel interstate is supported with expenses covered.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering or related mechanical trade.
• Experience servicing and repairing plant and heavy machinery.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Understanding of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel interstate periodically.

Join an established equipment service business supporting customers across construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors. We’re looking for an experienced Plant Mechanic / Field Service Technician to service, maintain and repair a diverse range of heavy plant and equipment. This is a great opportunity for a qualified mechanic with a background in mobile plant, heavy diesel or mechanical equipment who enjoys hands‑on technical work, fault‑finding and a mix of workshop and field service duties. The role also involves occasional interstate travel, with travel expenses and accommodation covered.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out scheduled servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of plant and equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and completing repairs onsite and in the workshop
• Inspecting equipment to identify faults and ensure safe, reliable operation
• Performing preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime
• Travelling to customer sites when required to complete servicing and repairs
• Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring work is completed to a high standard

What You’ll Need

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering or a related mechanical trade
• Previous experience servicing and repairing plant, heavy machinery or similar mechanical equipment
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Understanding of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel interstate periodically, including overnight stays
• Reliable, safety-conscious approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Current driver's licence
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
