Job summary

Anglicare Central Queensland Limited | Rockhampton is seeking a Placement Support Worker to join our not-for-profit team in Rockhampton. You will work closely with foster carers, children and support services to ensure placements are stable, trauma-informed and tailored to each child's needs.

Based in Rockhampton, this full-time fixed-term role offers meaningful work with families across Central Queensland, opportunities for professional development and the chance to help children grow and heal

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Community Services (Child Protection) or higher, with relevant experience.
• Placement Support Worker role based in Rockhampton to support foster carers and children.
• Experience in trauma-informed, person-centred care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage with carers to support children at home and in the community.
• Assess needs of children and carers using observation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with Child Safety Services and local agencies.
• Provide on-call services via a scheduled roster.
• Identify training needs for carers to meet children's needs.

About the role:

We're looking for a compassionate and committed Placement Support Worker, based in Rockhampton, to work closely with foster carers, children and support services to ensure placements are stable, supportive and tailored to each child's unique needs. You work will help build brighter futures by fostering strong relationships, advocating for children's wellbeing and delivery trauma-informed, person-centred care that truly makes a difference.

What will a typical day look like?

• Engage with carers to support children in all aspects of life, at home and in the wider community.
• Use observational and evaluation skills to contribute to the assessment of children and carers needs.
• Work collaboratively with Child Safety Services, community agencies and elders to establish and maintain sound working relationships.
• Provide on call services through a scheduled roster.
• Identify carer training and developmental needs to ensure the needs of the children are met.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Certificate IV level or higher in Community Services (Child Protection) with significant experience in a similar field.
