Job summary

Anglicare Central Queensland Limited | Rockhampton is seeking casual Outreach Support Workers to join our team in Rockhampton. You will provide respite to carers by taking planned outings with young people, with shifts likely in the afternoon or on weekends.

Residential Care shifts will also be available. Mandatory requirements include a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent (proof of enrolment) and 1 year of relevant experience with young people

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or equivalent, or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
  • 1 year of relevant experience working with young people in out-of-home care or similar field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide opportunities for children and young people to develop and learn life skills appropriate to their age and ability.
  • Support young people in maintaining connections with family, culture, country, and community.
  • Support young people to develop safety, health, and wellbeing measures.
  • Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
  • Support young people in accessing appointments (transport).
  • Engage therapeutically with young people.

About therole:

We arecurrently seeking casual Outreach Support Workers to join our teamin Rockhampton. Our Outreach Support Workers will provide respiteto carers by taking planned outings with young people (these shiftsare likely to take place in the afternoon or on the weekend). Aspart of the Residential Care team, shifts in our Residential Carehomes will also be available.

Whatwill a typical day look like?
