Job summary

AnglicareCQ is seeking casual Residential Support Workers in Gladstone to support young people in residential care homes and in the community. You will help create a safe and structured environment, implementing care plans and helping youths achieve clear goals.

Responsibilities include shift work, community engagement, and enabling connections with families under child safety services guidelines. Training is provided; Blue Card and Yellow Card checks are required.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or actively working toward this qualification.
• Alternative qualifications or working toward: Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or Youth Work; Diploma in Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing or Mental Health.

Responsibilities

• Engage with young people to support them in home and community settings.
• Support care plan strategies and review care plans to set clear, achievable goals.
• Assist with family contact and community activities as approved by child safety services.
• Support social, educational and health activities per each individual care plan.

About the role:

We are currently seeking casual Residential Support Workers to join our team in Gladstone.

Our Support Workers will support young people by providing a sense of safety, structure, acceptance, stability and security in our Residential Care homes and in the community.

What will a typical day look like?

• Shift work
• Engage with young people to support them in all aspects of life, both in the home and wider community.
• Implement strategies identified in the care plan and participate in review of care plans to ensure young people have clear, relevant, and achievable goals.
• Support planned contact and connectedness to family as approved by child safety services.
• Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).

Alternative qualifications or working towards:

• Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or Youth Work
• Diploma in Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing or Mental Health
