Job summary

Anglicare Central Queensland is seeking casual Residential Support Workers to join our Rockhampton team. You will engage with young people to provide safety, structure and support in our Residential Care homes and in the community.

Shift-work and involvement in care plans are key, with emphasis on social, educational and health activities aligned to each plan. Applicants should have Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or be enrolled, with alternative

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
  • Alternative qualifications listed include Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or YouthWork.
  • Diploma in Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing or MentalHealth.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with young people to support them in all aspects of life, both in the home and wider community.
  • Implement strategies identified in the care plan and participate in review of care plans to ensure goals are clear, relevant and achievable.
  • Support planned contact and connectedness to family as approved by child safety services.
  • Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
