Job summary

Fortescue in Perth is seeking a Lead Principal - Corporate Development to identify, pursue and negotiate transactions across metals, with a core focus on copper, including acquisitions and earn-in joint ventures.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Development, you will collaborate with Exploration, Technical, Finance, Legal and other functions to shape investment papers and strategic plans for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development or similar transaction-focused roles.
• Experience evaluating acquisitions, joint ventures or other complex transactions in a global organisation.
• Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake financial modelling and valuation activities, coordinating due diligence with technical experts.
• Follow mergers and acquisitions activity in metals, identify market trends and opportunities.
• Research and screen investment opportunities and develop transaction structures.
• Lead transactions, coordinate cross-functional due diligence across disciplines.
• Prepare investment analyses and recommendations for Executives and the Board.
• Assist with integration of acquisitions in collaboration with support functions.
